John R. Stanek has extensive and varied experience in law governing public education with a focus on special education law. Prior to his current role, John retired as Internal Legal Counsel from the Cherry Creek School District. During his time with the Cherry Creek School District, he also served as Executive Director of Student Achievement Services – Special Education. Earlier in his career, John served as the Associate In-house Counsel, the Regional Director of Special Education, and a school psychologist for Douglas County Schools. For over 20 years, John R. Stanek was employed as an adjunct professor at the University of Colorado at Denver teaching special education law and other graduate classes in specialized programming, services and instructional methodologies provided to students with disabilities attending public schools.
